Second Star Ventures is a venture backed consumer startup operating in stealth as we develop a category defining product at the intersection of home, hardware, and design. Our flagship offering reimagines a long overlooked category with a modern, modular approach, fusing elegant industrial design with an intuitive, tech forward experience built for the next generation of homeowners and renters.

We’re launching in early 2026 and recently closed a pre-seed round led by Lerer Hippeau. We’re a small, fast-moving team obsessed with taste, execution, and momentum—building a brand and platform that turns a mundane fixture into a moment of style and utility.

THE ROLE

As our first full-time hire and founding team member, you’ll architect and run our GTM engine from scratch. You’ll shape strategy, own performance, and turn early traction into a scalable growth machine.

This is a high-impact, multidisciplinary role—combining performance marketing, creative storytelling, influencer strategy, and AI-driven execution. You'll work side-by-side with the founder to test bold ideas, build winning playbooks, and grow our audience of design-forward customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Strategy & Positioning

  • Define and evolve our GTM roadmap, prioritizing high-impact bets

  • Identify early customer segments and refine buyer personas

  • Set creative strategy across channels: what we say, how we say it, and where we show up

  • Maintain a living GTM dashboard to track hypotheses, results, and next steps


Growth & Performance

  • Launch and scale full-funnel paid campaigns (Meta, TikTok, Google, etc.)

  • Test creative (copy, visuals, video, landing pages) relentlessly for impact

  • Report clearly on CAC, ROAS, LTV, and contribution margin—make sharp calls fast

  • Scale what works, cut what doesn’t


Influencers & Partnerships

  • Lead a seeding and outreach program targeting design, lifestyle, and tech tastemakers

  • Cultivate creator relationships and track outcomes with discipline

  • Run outbound with AI tools, automated CRM, and tight messaging

  • Explore collabs and co-branded drops that elevate our identity


Content, Email & Creative

  • Build and optimize Klaviyo flows—smart, tasteful, and editorial in tone

  • Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, Pika, etc.) for scripts, visuals, and ideation

  • Coordinate UGC and short-form content with an eye for quality and cohesion

  • Make the brand feel more like a design magazine than a store


AI-Native Execution

  • Build fast, AI-powered workflows for creative, outreach, and reporting

  • Create internal tools or automations that scale your own output

  • Stay ahead of emerging tools that give us a speed or cost edge


Scrappy Ops & Team Building

  • Stand up GTM systems in Airtable, Notion, Shopify, etc.

  • Recruit and manage freelancers or agencies as needed

  • Help define future GTM org structure, tools, and rituals

WHO YOU ARE

Must Haves

  • 4–8 years in growth, brand, or GTM at a startup or high-performing DTC brand

  • Proven success running paid and organic campaigns with real ROI

  • Strong with AI tools and workflows—you move faster because of them

  • Analytical fluency—modeling funnels, reading performance, and course correcting

  • Sharp copy instincts and good taste—you’re not afraid to write or tweak

  • Self-directed, scrappy, and energized by building from zero


Bonus Points

  • Experience running influencer or creator programs

  • Shopify + Klaviyo experience

  • Built something from scratch (side hustle, startup, community, etc.)

  • Skilled in video, UGC, or visual storytelling

  • Familiar with home goods, interiors, or consumer electronics

  • Comfortable with GA4, post-purchase surveys, and customer data tools

  • A clear GTM dashboard tracking experiments, learnings, and active campaigns.

  • Multiple live paid campaigns and email flows driving measurable ROI.

  • A portfolio of high-performing ads and creative angles, validated by data.

  • An early influencer and PR flywheel generating buzz, even at a small scale.

  • Passionate early customers who advocate for us organically.

  • At least one scalable channel (e.g., Meta Ads, TikTok, creators) with proven ROI.

  • AI-driven marketing workflows enabling rapid testing and lean operations.
